Also, mulattos were only recognized as such if you looked white with ver light to white skin, not tan or brown. So, for black Americans to hear her say that she is colored to an American, bring back to apartheid days in America when we had groups like mulattos. I am light skinned to the point that even white people think that I am white, but I am a black female, whose family were once called mulattos. The world knows that Africans are colonized and some are just coming out of apartheid and this colored identity is a trigger to people who know the history of racism.
